Dragonball (2008)
Get ready for Goku and his pals on the big screen ! The movie adaptation of DragonBall is set for release this August. With ridiculously epic fights and spectacular superhuman battles (KAMEHAMEHA!), Dragonball fans all over the world are praying hard that they get the adaptation just right.
Dragonball stars Justin Chatwin, pictured above (“War of the Worlds”) as Son Goku, Emmy Rossun (“Phantom of the Opera”) as Bulma, Chow Yun-Fat (“Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End”) as Master Roshi, Jason Marsters (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) as Lord Piccolo and Ernie Hudson(“Ghostbusters”) who had just signed up but no word yet on who he’ll be playing. The movie is being directed by James Wong with Stephen Chow (“Kungfu Hustle”) on broad as the producer, we can definitely expect some of his signature slapstick antics.

I’m quite hopeful for the Dragonball movie myself, but… a western dude playing Goku ??? They better do it right or scores of Dragonball fans will tear down their studio.
