Gundam Statue Unveiled at Train Station
A 3-meter tall bronze statue of a Gundam was erected just outside of the Kami-Igusa Station in Japan where Sunrise, the production studio of Gundam was located. The statue was unveiled on Sunday as part of the local council’s effort to revive the town. I dunno ’bout you, but this is definitely the first time I’ve heard of an anime character being immortalized as a bronze statue. Foreign tourists might be wondering if this is another one of those holy shrine that Japan is famous for. God Gundam anyone ?
