Artist of the Month – Rie Fu

Via Wikipedia
Rie fu (リエ フゥ, Rie fū), born Rie Funakoshi (舩越 りえ, Funakoshi Rie) on January 11, 1985 in Tokyo, is a Japanese singer-songwriter. Rie fu graduated from the Central Saint Martins college of the University of the Arts London on July 18, 2007. She is commuting between the United Kingdom and Japan for recording and promoting her songs.
Anyone who’s watched Bleach would surely remember Rie Fu’s very moving closing theme song Life Is Like a Boat or Gundam Seed’s I Wanna Go To a Place. Life is like a Boat remains to be one of my favorite anime theme song and it was this song that propelled her into popularity. Born in Japan, Rie Fu lived in Maryland with her family for a short period where she gained her musical influences from Sheryl Crow, Aimee Mann and even The Carpenters. Her songs are often sung in both English and Japanese as she is very fluent in both language. Her latest single Home was just released earlier this year. Check out her site for more updates.

Hi Adlina, thanks for dropping by. I just checked out the ending theme for that series as well and I fell instantly in love with it. I’ll be doing a short update with her video for that ending theme. Thanks.
