Ghost in the Shell 2.0

Via DannyChoo
Looks like another classic hit is up for a refresh for the 2.0 generation. Ghost in the Shell was recently remade with stunning new CGI effects and with some new scenes introduced in it. If you’re not already confused with the new numbering system, this is the original 1995 Ghost in the Shell remake, hence the 2.0. The new CGI brings it up to the level that the 2004 Ghost in the Shell 2 sequel Innocence had. Check out some of the new scenes comparison of the remake with the original. Look out for the release later this year !

I wrote about this before on another post about the same thing. Motoko does not need a facelift. The original was good enough as it was. What we need is a Ghost in the Shell SAC 3rd Gig rather than the original series. It was groundbreaking then, but the series encapsulated more of the philosophy (which was the selling point) than the movie which squeezed everything into a short time.

This would be like George Lucas releasing special editions of the original Star Wars trilogy. I guess I’ll have agree that they shouldnt mess with a classic, but perhaps by releasing a remake like this will draw the young generation back to its original manga and movie roots. hahaha
