Mamoru Oshii’s SkyCrawlers
Mamoru Oshii’s (Ghost in the Shell) latest military drama sci-fi epic is set for release in Japan this weekend 2nd August 2008. Set in an alternate universe, it follows the trials and tribulations of a group of young pilots engaged in a constant dogfight warfare. Rinko Kikuchi of Babel fame and Ryo Kase will be lending their voices for the main characters. Produced by Production IG with Kenji Kawaii helming the score for the movie, it features a very beautiful and haunting soundtrack, you can get a sample of it from the official trailer below. Looks like another great anime to look forward to this year.
