Graveyard of the Fireflies Live Action

One of the most depressing animes that I’ve ever watched was recently remade into a live action movie. The original Graveyard of the Fireflies was produced by Studio Ghibli back in the late 80s and had very good reviews although many also pointed out that this is not a film for those already in a depressed mood. The film features a boy and his sister as they struggle to survive in war torn village in Japan during World War 2. I’m usually interested to see how an anime is adapted to live action, but I’ll probably pass on this. I really had trouble finishing the anime some years ago, it was THAT depressing. perhaps the effect will be different coz in anime we can build the character as we like and live-action it’s hard to imitate unless the little girl/boy is a very talented actor?
