It’s back ! The Anime Festival Asia 2010 will be held on the 13 and 14th November 2010 at the Suntec City Convention and Exhibition Hall, Singapore. Fans of Mikuni Shimokawa of the Full Metal Panic anime theme songs will be delighted to know that she will be performing the last leg of her Asian Lovers Tour 2010 in Singapore this August ! From her official press release:

She is well known throughout Asia for her ever popular songs used in the “Full Metal Panic” animation series and her successful singing career. She is not only a singer and songwriter, but also a regular radio personality hosting 4 talk shows which has been receiving hot support from her fans.

Ever since her first overseas performance in Taiwan 2007 which attracted over more than 600 fans, her fanbase outside of Japan has been growing fast. Since then she has been performing live frequently in Asian countries like Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and more.

Ticketing details for May’N's upcoming Malaysian tour on the 7th March has been updated at the official concert site. The concert will be held at the KL Live Entertainment Hall with tickets priced at RM 198 from outlets and RM 218 at the door, please note however that the concert will be a free standing event and admission is based on a first come first serve basis . Live Art Demonstration
Another most-wanted Comic Fiesta event returns! A very popular event, the Live Art Demos will feature studios showcasing one of their finest to do a short workshop on what they do at their studios on a daily basis. This will comprise lectures, live-demos, art showcases, and even a short class on “how-to” for those who are interested to participate.

Industry Seminar
Following on the success of the Portfolio Review Pavilion, Comic Fiesta 2009 is proud to present a new event for the year: Comic Fiesta Industry Seminar! It will be half-day long (on Day 2) and will have speakers from the creative industry taking the stage to share their views and experiences.

Aside from the events, there will also be booths selling anime, manga and figure related merchandise.

IT’S BACK ! ! One of the most highly anticipated anime event of the region, the Anime Festival Asia 2009 will be held from 21st – 22nd November at the Singapore Suntec Convention Center. Among the highlights this year are the great artists invited to perform the I Love Anisong Concert, featuring May’N, Shoko Nakagawa, Ichiro Mizuki, Yoshiki Fukuyama AND Hatsune Miku! Celebrity Otaku blogger Danny Choo will also be making an appearance this year and will most likely introduce some of his merchandise during the event. Other activities held during the event includes the Bandai World Gunpla Modeling Competition as well as the Regional Cosplay Championship 2009 and lots of other features.

Looks like ACGC 2008 is back again for a finale. The first one was held sometime in February which I missed. There’ll be doujinshi booths, Cosplay competition with a Nintendo Wii as the grand prize this time as well as Call of Duty 4 competition. The website is a little scarce on details but expect the usual stalls selling figurines and anime DVDs.

Animax is organizing their Youth Festival this weekend over at the 1 Utama Shopping mall. There will be cosplay events, gaming tournaments and stalls selling anime merchandise. Seventeen Magazine will be having a talent search for the Hottest Animax babe as well, so looks like its gonna be a real lively event. Below are the event description copied from their official site. Taylor’s University College of Subang Jaya is organizing their annual Anime Fest 2008 at their main campus this Saturday from 10am till 7pm. There will be cosplay competitions, performances as well as lucky draws.  Booths selling Doujinshi and other merchandise will also be set up at the hall.

Comic Fiesta – Anime Fest 2008

Sony Malaysia is organizing a cosplay competition at the above venue in conjunction with the official launching of the PSP Red Limited Edition in Malaysia. The cosplay event will be held on the 15th while PSP gaming competitions are held on the 16th. Sony is offering attractive prizes for the competitions with the grand prize of a Sony Vaio laptop and PSP Red for the PSP games competition and a Sony Cybershot digital camera for the cosplay event.

The PSP gaming competition will consist of the following titles Metal Gear Solid, Winning Eleven, Juiced 2 and Tekken. Some of the major sponsor of the event includes Animax, HWM and GameAxis. So if you’re up for game, head off to Curve this weekend and bag yourself a brand new PSP. Thanks to Stephanie for bringing this to my attention.

Not much details on this event at the moment but from what I’ve read about the previous year’s, they had anime, manga, figurine booths, gaming competitions and autograph sessions with local manga artists, Gempak Starz as well as Miss MaxGames competition hosted by MaxGames which is part of the Maxis Network. No word on whether there will be cosplay competitions but I’ll be sure to update this page when more details have been released.
